Good Fortune.

Had to have a tooth pulled this weekend, been lagging lately in general (see my “Signs” post) – but something keeps pushing the “drive” button…here’s the latest, from dinner tonight.

I <3 LA

Most people that know me are more than aware that I don’t follow sports, particularly team sports much. No favorite baseball or football teams…but when it comes to basketball, it’s all about Kobe and the Lakeshow. I really hope this is the year that I’ll be heading to downtown LA for the parade 🙂 Checkout this fortune I got the other day…somethings are just meant to be.

OH MY KNEE!! FU Pierce.

More than a game…

Be sure to peep this when it comes out in October. Produced by a buddy of mine that used to shoot some car footage for us – features Lebronze (sorry, still a Kobe fan at heart). Congrat Brian!

Spring Break Part 2

Handled some shopping downtown and had a chance to checkout “The Hundreds” store – slick setup, so slick that I wasn’t sure if they were open LOL. These guys have a great blog and some killer designs. If you haven’t checked em out already, let’s go.

Ferrari Store now open downtown…I give this place 16 mos. tops. I’ve been to several of these boutiques (most recently the one in Miami) and I never see people buying stuff. Even if I owned a Ferrari I’m not sure I’d want all the brand schwag.

Gotta love a jollibee and red ribbon right next to each other- Filipino heaven LOL! I’m sure the lady thought we were a Japanese couple until I busted out my fake filipino accent.

Next to Lee’s Iced Coffee (yes, deserves caps) – this is one of my favorite foods/dishes. I stumbled upon it with my friends a few years back (thanks Arling!), which is shocking since I never try anything new. Since then, every time I’m in SF we head over to Thanh Long for garlic crab. If you’ve heard of Crusteaceans in Beverly Hills, this is where it all started. BEST GARLIC CRAB EVER.

Seriously, this is some bad ass crab. I’m not even a foodie and I guarantee people will flip like dolphins and sh*t if you try this crab. If you’re in the bay area, you have to give this a try. I’ll buy you a Phantom if you don’t like it. (Line taken from MTV Sweet 16 LOL)

Spring Break / SF Trip

Wendy had the week off for Spring Break so we headed up to SF to visit family and friends, celebrate her bday and just take some time off (NOTE: She’s a teacher, I’m not robbing the cradle guys) It’s funny because Spring Break used to mean great weather, partying and a break from school…in the corporate world, it doesn’t really mean anything unless you have kids LOL!

I rent cars from Enterprise maybe every 3 mos or less, depending upon what I’ve got going on, they always seem to have the best rates and they “pick you up” – which is handy. I always reserve a small car online, then request an upgrade at the time of pickup. This has worked for me pretty much EVERYTIME, which kicks ass since I get a larger car for the same money. I was in for quite a surprise this time since I went from a “intermediate” to an 09′ LINCOLN TOWN CAR LOL. Straight presidential. Uber comfy, but seriously drives like a mattress on wheels.

We stopped off in Lost Hills, which apparently had NO POWER in the entire town. Right out of a zombie movie, good thing we had more than enough gas, bad thing that I had to pee so bad I could taste it.

The drive went pretty quick considering all the wind and rain, we stopped off at FONGSTYLE’s to say wassup, I hugged his Gallardo that was sleeping in the garage. Gotta get me one of these…

Part 2 coming up later today – gotta head back to work!

Bye Bye 7.75

After dinner last night I made a “late” run to Target and Trader Joe’s to get my last minute 7.75% tax opportunity in LOL. Granted, 1% isn’t going to make a huge dent – but it adds up quickly if you tend to purchase a lot of little items. Seriously, any of my “large” purchases will now be online since I won’t have to pay tax AND shipping is free. Sad to see for a lot of local retail shops, as they’ll be left to cater to those last minute purchasers or immediate gratification types (myself included), we’ll definitely see a drop in retail sales for small business. Enough of the economics, let’s get with the cool shiz which is what I’m about LOL.

I had the original!! They’re releasing this again…sweet.

Interesting finding this at Target…will be nice to know that the next gen of driving will find the GTR “common” whilst most of us pre fast and furious types will remember how much of a unicorn this once was.

Livin LRG

Was heading out to grab some lunch today and decided to swing by the LRG sample sale going on this weekend (copped the flyer from Ben Baller’s blog) – some pretty great deals, they were dropping stuff for $15 A POUND LOL!!! Seriously. I didn’t really pickup anything for myself, maybe a few tees and a hat, but was able to hookup my nephews…that way I can stay the “cool” uncle LOL.

Blogging vs Facebook vs Twitter

Twitter and Facebook have been my weapons of choice lately, unfortunately leaving my one avid blog reader with very little updates 🙂 I’m slowly going to transition my blog to longer stories and messages regarding cars/toys/life and leaving my quick updates to the other social networking tools that suck time away LOL. Go follow me on twitter! albertroxas

On that note, here’s a quick pic of what arrived a few days ago, Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow combo f/Mighty Muggs! Not quite Kaws or Bearbricks but hey, they’re still vinyl and cool. Would love to get a hold of the 5′ Giant Gundam Zaku II one day, that thing kicks ass (maybe when I have a bigger home office LOL) and for my friends that always make fun of me for not opening toys, these will be opened!! (Eventually) hahaha.
